The reporter has reported on the sports scene for major media outlets across the globe. It was a long time covering sports for The Washington Post, including football, tennis, and basketball. Nichols was awarded two Emmy Awards during her nine-year stint at ESPN and was featured in many of the network's most popular shows such as NFL Countdown or SportsCenter, moved to ESPN in the year 2004. She also worked as the correspondent of Monday Night Football on the network. Next was CNN followed by Turner Sports. Unguarded - Rachel Nichols - was her first self-titled show, which was a weekly show for a week on CNN International. The show had over a billion viewers across the globe. Nichols worked for TNT as a broadcaster and reporter on NBA games, including regular season games, playoffs as well as All Star broadcasts. Nichols also worked for TBS broadcasting golf and baseball broadcasts, and Final Four broadcasts on CBS. Over the course of 42 years of the award, this was the only time women were in the list of 200+ nominees.
